La Clairière du Moulin, is situated in an incomparable, natural location at the foot of the spectacular Massif de l’Epine on the edge of the Chartreuse National Park and overlooks Lake Aiguebelette, a little over a kilometer away.
As a popular holiday destination in France, there are many activities available to visitors to the area. The following (non-exhaustive) list of activities/links will provide you with information on some of the activities which are easily accessible from La Clairière du Moulin:
Plage de la Crique, Plage de Pré-argent, Plage de Bon Vent, Saint Alban Plage, Plage de Sougey, Plage de Lépin le Lac, Plage d’Aiguebelette.
There are seven beaches encircling the turquoise waters of Lac d’Aiguebelette, each with an individual ambiance and all with stunning views - some towards the mountains of the Chartreuse Regional Park, others towards the gentle rolling hills of the rural Savoyard countryside. There is a small charge to use the beaches during the main holiday period of July - August (1€ - 3€ per person per day, depending on beach).
Most beaches are surveyed by life guards for your safety and nearly all offer some kind of ‘restauration’, be it a simple buvette or more a sophisticated restaurant. Some offer the opportunity to hire pedalos or kayaks and children’s play areas can be found at some locations.
Wildlife : Buzzards are seen daily in and around the property, along with many other birds and although rarely seen by us, there are traces of numerous wild animals passing through the property at nighttime, including badger and various species of deer.
Walking : Ramblers can walk directly from the property onto the marked paths up to the summit of the Mont Grêle (1425 m) inside the Chartreuse Natural Regional Park.
